Bugfix list for IE7

The developers for IE7 have released a comprehensive list of bug fixes coming in IE7. Some of the highlights:

Alpha PNG transparency
Peekaboo bug
Guillotine bug
Overflow now works correctly
SELECT control is CSS style-able and not always on top
:hover enabled on all elements
fixed positioning support
and more…

These are just some of the bugs I’ve run into when designing websites. My life is going to be so much better when IE7 is adopted by a large market share. Compulsory update will help with that.

Unobtrusive Javascript for Rails

I have been keeping an eye on rails for some time. The philosophy and technology seems really sound. I’m also a fan of the philosophy of unobtrusive js. Now that they’ve met, I want to get into Ruby on Rails even more. But since it requires a specific server to run rails pages it seems like to much of an adoption curve to justify the investment. Still, it’s tempting…
